Who do you need to connect with?
Outside of your new lab advisor (the lab P.I.), there are a number of people you should be connecting with to ensure all of your needs are met. Here are a few key ones we think you should know:
Your department's HR contacts (Manager, Generalist, Specialist)
Your department's Accounting and Finance contacts
Benefits contacts: https://hr.umn.edu/Benefits/U-M-Employment-Benefits
The UCard Office: You will need your UCard to access resources like parking, transportation passes, buildings and more. Please note that the earliest you can get your UCard is the first day of your appointment.
Need to talk to someone about specific questions or concerns?
Consider reaching out to the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Initiatives Noro Andriamanalina (firstname.lastname@example.org). She and her team have assembled an additional set of resources on The Graduate School website here.
