The University of Minnesota is a Sustaining Member of the National Postdoctoral Association. All UMN postdocs are eligible for an Affiliate Membership to the NPA.

The University of Minnesota Office of Posdoctoral Innitiatives (OPI) with the PDA have created a guide for incoming and existing Postdocs for navigating their time at the University of Minnesota.
FUTURE PI SLACK
The Future PI Slack group is an informal peer mentoring group for biomedical postdocs who are interested in staying in academia. We also have channels for those exploring non-academic options.
We use the Slack messaging service to communicate about grant applications, conferences, the faculty job search, and other topics of common interest. Our community has approximately 500 active members from around the world as of March 2021.
PDA Response to Sexual Harassment
The PDA has made a list of resources, which includes UMN policies regarding sexual harassment and also material to help create an inclusive and harassment-free environment.
UMN also has a number of resources outlining the UMN code of conduct, policy on sexual harassment, and sexual harassment/stalking/relationship violence. These resources as well as links for reporting misconduct and harassment can be found here. Please contact the PDA if you have questions, and we will direct you to the appropriate resources.
